Far Far West starting region

Canyon Guide

Canyon is available from the start. Find 4 medallions to open the secret vault and unlock the Pick Pick Joker, then collect 3 Psychedelic West fragments. The 10-grave map and saved checklist have their own route.

Canyon Medallion Locations

Bobby, Hawkeye and Sweaty each hide a medallion behind a different task. The Sheriff's medallion is beside the vault. Use the 4 green X marks with the named routes below; they are separate from the map's yellow trainwreck marker.

Version 541 reference: north is Bobby, west is Hawkeye, east is Sweaty, and Finish is the Sheriff and vault. These names are supplied below; the map prints X marks. White circles mark discs, white grave icons mark graves, the yellow X marks a trainwreck and the purple X marks an Area 41 clue. Mission icons can differ in your run.
Bobby Northern canyon mine: dynamite and Luck

Descend to the river at the bottom of the northern canyon, then look north for the mine entrance in the cliff. Take the nearby dynamite, light it and throw it at the glowing cracked rocks blocking the passage. Clear a path into the cave and continue to the end, where Bobby's Medallion rests in a wooden minecart.

Hawkeye Western safe: blue targets and Focus

Find the safe beneath the small shelter against the western rocks. Shoot all 10 blue-glowing targets around the area, then collect Hawkeye's Medallion from the opened safe. Look for the blue glow around the safe and on the nearby rocks. The first target is on the safe; standing on the rock beside it helps you scan the area.

Sweaty Eastern river fork: shovel and Greed

Find the small wooden shed at the eastern river fork, below the bridge. Glowing shovels stand beside its wooden boxes; pick one up there before searching the nearby disturbed soil. Check southeast of the shed, near the water, first. Other mounds can contain skull traps, so do not assume every dig is safe. Dig up Sweaty's Medallion and pick it up from the opened mound.

Sheriff South-central cliff opening: Bravery and the vault

Find the station where the tracks converge just below the map center. Look for the opening in the cliff above the southern canyon, rather than searching only along the river below. The dead Sheriff sits beside the large stone door. Pick up his medallion, then use the four slots on the door when you have the other three.

How to Open the Canyon Vault

Start at the Sheriff and the four-slot door, then return with all 4 medallions for the Pick Pick Joker. The northern mine needs dynamite; the eastern digging area provides its own shovels.

Step 1

Use the dead Sheriff beside the south-central four-slot door as your starting landmark. Inspect the nearby clue and take his medallion; the door is in the cliff opening above the southern canyon near the rail station.

Step 2

Follow the northern mine, western target safe and eastern digging routes to collect Bobby's, Hawkeye's and Sweaty's Medallions. Keep track of each pickup before returning to the Sheriff.

Step 3

Bring all four medallions to the stone door and interact with its empty slots. The game puts each medallion into its matching slot, so there is no socket-order puzzle to guess.

Step 4

Once all four are placed, the vault opens and the Canyon secret awards the Pick Pick Joker. Equip it at the gunsmith for a chance to spawn damaging pickaxes on a target when you hit it. The opened cave also has gold deposits and pickaxes for mining.

Canyon Music Disc Locations: Psychedelic West

Collect the 3 fragments to unlock Psychedelic West in the Saloon. You can collect disc fragments across multiple runs. Follow the original blue 1–3 labels and check the lower cave openings and crate tops described below.

Original blue numbers: 1 is at ground level by the northwest rock, 2 is on a low wooden box against the southwest cave wall, and 3 is on a crate inside the southeast mine. The numbers match the notes below. No build label is readable; arrival, boss and extraction icons belong to the pictured run.
1 Northwestern tall rock and wooden boxes

Go to the tall rock on the northwestern side of the map. Check the ground beside its wooden boxes and barrel, against the cliff wall. The golden fragment lies between the containers; you do not need to climb to the top of the rock.

2 Southwestern cave opening and wooden wall

Head into the lower southwestern corner and find the cave opening beside the wooden wall. Check the low wooden box or platform against that wall, close to the entrance, for the golden fragment. Search the lower opening rather than the upper cliff surface.

3 Southeastern mine and stacked crates

Enter the mine in the southeastern part of the map. Look to the side of the wooden mine path, among the stacked crates. The fragment rests on a side crate, so check the box tops as well as the floor.

Canyon Trainwreck: Continue Toward Far Far North

Far Far North opens through a separate questline from the Railroad Worker. Complete the trainwreck quest in each of the three regions. The yellow X on the medallion reference map marks Canyon's trainwreck task.

Step 1

Speak to the Railroad Worker and follow your quest log for Canyon's trainwreck stage. Hold the black box inside the moving green download zone, then finish the mission and extract. Unlock Area 41 to reach the third trainwreck.

Step 2

The full questline spans Far West, Canyon, Area 41. Open Far Far North under Continue Your Route for the complete unlock path; opening the medallion vault does not finish these trainwreck quests.

Canyon FAQ

Do I need to unlock Canyon?
No. Canyon is a starting mission region. You can explore its medallion secret and music fragment locations before unlocking the later regions.
Where can I find a shovel for Sweaty's Medallion?
Find the small wooden shed at the eastern river fork, below the bridge. Glowing shovels stand beside its wooden boxes; pick one up there before searching the nearby disturbed soil. Check southeast of the shed, near the water, first. Other mounds can contain skull traps, so do not assume every dig is safe.
How do I find the remaining targets at Hawkeye's safe?
There are 10 blue-glowing targets around the safe area. Look for the blue glow around the safe and on the nearby rocks. The first target is on the safe; standing on the rock beside it helps you scan the area. Check the safe's counter as you clear them, then collect the medallion inside.
Do I need to guess which socket takes each medallion?
No. Bring the 4 medallions back to the Sheriff's stone door and interact with the empty slots. The game places each medallion in its matching socket.
Does opening the medallion vault unlock Far Far North?
The vault awards the Pick Pick Joker. Far Far North uses the separate trainwreck questline across Far West, Canyon, Area 41; Canyon's yellow trainwreck X is separate from the green Finish marker.
Can I collect the music fragments across runs, and how do I play Psychedelic West?
You can collect disc fragments across multiple runs. After collecting all 3 Canyon fragments, return to the Saloon. The Saloon's jukebox lets you select unlocked tracks without carrying a separate disc. Choose Psychedelic West from the unlocked tracks.
Where is the Canyon grave map and saved checklist?
Use the 10 graves link at the top of this page or Canyon Grave Locations under Continue Your Route. The dedicated grave guide keeps the numbered stops, detailed directions and browser-saved checklist together.
Do these maps show the latest Canyon client?
The medallion overview shows Version 541; the pickup and vault routes are also pictured in Version 644 references. The numbered music map has no readable build label. Use the terrain and current in-game prompts when following these older maps: arrival, boss and extraction icons can differ between runs.
